 Sociable Disposables was established in 1993 by Ian Gibson as the local store that had everything. The word was that if sociables didn't have it - they could get it for you.
As time passed, son Matthew took over the store and it went from strength to strength. Matthew brought his own style of customer service into the store and made Sociables a household name in North Hull.
Over the years Matthew has had some strange requests, such as the old lady that wanted a £10 bottle of Gaviscon. It wasn't a stock item so Matthew visited the local supermarket and bought a bottle at a cost of £11.50, he then dropped it in to the lady's home for her. As he says, I was out of pocket on the deal but she shops here daily and always pops in to say hello, it was like helping a friend. That is the kind of service that makes local shops so much better than superstores, it is the personal touch.
Goods stocked are varied, Plumbing, Houshold, Electrical, Tools, Decorating, Greeting Cards, in fact far more than you can list.
In North Hull, Sociables is well known as the place to get what you need. If you haven't tried shopping there why not pop in. You are sure to get a friendly smile, and remember . . . .
