Richard is one of the finest players to come out of Hull for many
decades. Scrum half is where Richard has settled himself although he
can cover every position in the back line. His ability to stand up
opposing defenders is second to none and his pace often leads to an
abundance of line breaks and try scoring opportunities. A terrific
young talent who made 28 appearances in 2005, scoring 8 tries in all
competitions. He also achieved 5 Man of the Match awards. The season
ended fittingly for Richard who was selected for Great Britian in the
Gillette Tri Nations after having missed out in 2004 through injury.
His final act of the season was a dream come true for a Hull born
player-scoring against Australia in the dying minutes in front of his
home crowd for Great Britain. The 2006 season is a huge year for
Richard as he establishes himself as a true great in the Hull FC shirt.
