There is a new look to
the Big Screen this week, and with it comes a new way of showing local films.
Rather than showing them at set times each day, they are now included in a
dynamic schedule which means that they are shown more often through the day at
different times.
This will provide more opportunities
to show local, interesting films from the city/community together with more
regular updates from BBC News, BBC Sport, and the Hull Travel Cameras.
Among the films this
week:
There is a series of films
looking at the projects run by Youth Enterprise
in Hull.
Danny from Embrace takes
us on a guided tour of the Yorkshire music scene, and Hull Vibe features another unsigned band with
your party pictures.
Stream features the
latest business events from across Hull,
including Hull
Forward, and the Enterprise 2008 event.
Plus BBC Radio One’s Dominic Byrne has Newsbeat’s top 10 weird videos of
the week in Oddbox.
The Humber Mouth
Literature Festival begins today, and The Big Screen is showing a special commission
produced by the University
of Hull’s Creative
Writing Unit called “Drift”. The film features poetry by the creative writing
staff at Hull
accompanied by film of the docks and coast; reminiscences by retired trawler
men; and music by one of the creative writing MA students. It shows daily at
12pm and 4pm.
As Euro 2008 continues, there are live games and daily
highlights on The Big Screen, together with Danny Baker’s 606 Euro 2008 Phone
In after the games on Sunday and Tuesday.
