This Saturday afternoon from midday, why not get your 15 seconds of fame by
submitting some video from your mobile phone to the Big Screen? You will then
be able to watch it live in Queen
Victoria Square. It’s “15x15”, an application
designed by the Hull School of Art and Design.
This weekend keep up to date with the latest football results. Ray Stubbs
has Score on the Big Screen on Saturday afternoon from 4pm. On Sunday afternoon
from 1pm, follow the fortunes of promotion chasing Hull
City for the final league game at Ipswich. The Tigers need to win and then await the
outcome of other matches to learn if they are to be promoted automatically. BBC
Radio Humberside’s David Burns will keep the city centre in touch with the
match from Portman Road.
Over the weekend, there is also live coverage of the World Championship
Snooker from The Crucible in Sheffield. You
can also watch the Women’s FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Leeds United on
Bank Holiday Monday lunchtime, together with highlights of BBC Radio One’s Big
Weekend.
As part of the recent Hull International Film Festival, students from
across the city recently produced a series of short films as a result of the
Creative Partnerships Hull programme (an Arts Council initiative). Film-makers
from Hull and
beyond have been working with schools to develop their ideas through film and
animation. The end result is a diverse range of film shorts, with topics from
truancy to Wilberforce, changing communities to children’s rights. The films
are from Chiltern Primary (featured the Boulevard), Stepney Primary
(animations), Westcott Primary and Winifred
Holtby School.
Caroline Davis takes a look at the history of Hull Truck, and goes behind
the scenes of the new building on Ferensway with John Godber. Peter Levy has a
new batch of your photographs on the Big Screen, and you can find out how to
sign up for this year’s Hull Race For Life.
There’s the best in UK
film making and animation in our monthly showcase from Propeller TV. Plus BBC
Radio One’s Dominic Byrne has Newsbeat’s top 10 weird videos of the week in
Oddbox.
