Well I didn't get flooded so I guess that's a short answer here! haha

Nah, I live next to the River Hull and luckily my house was spared, as was my mums on Bellfield Ave which is suprising seeing as her house is built on a marsh. But i have seen what it's been like and damn its not pretty so if you got affected my thoughts go out to you all xxx

Thankfully our house was an inch from flooding so we got away from it, but Andie's mum's flat off priory drive (priory road area) was 6 inches under water and she had to come and stay with us, also my new car got flooded and my multi changer got wet and no longer works but I am not complaining as there are lots of people who have lost a lot of things in these floods. My heart goes out to them.

Our garden was flooded right up to the house, another couple of hours and it would've been in. Only downside for me was losing 2 rows of potatoes.

We were lucky too. The garden was about 18" deep in water but it never came near the house.

Several months on and many families are still in caravans and have the prospect of christmas living in them. Much has been said with hindsight but I wonder what has actually been done to prevent this happening again. Have the drains near you been cleared? Certainly near me they haven't yet.
If yours haven't, pop a message on here.

Follow up to the floods of last year (June 2007), well what a year, we finally had Andie's mum staying with us for 9 months (we thought it would only be for a couple of days - how wrong we were) there are still people living in caravans and houses being gutted out by contactors and people still struggling, We shoud not forget the hardship that people are still going through. 10 months on.

the damage to my car was more that I stated in my message above it effected the head gasket, wheel bearings and the wireing loom on my alternator. hopefully this year I hope we have a nice summer with not too much rain and a bit of sun to make up for last year (not too much sun as we don't want everyone burnt and we still need som rain to keep the hosepipe bans away in otherwords we need to the right mix of sun and a little rain). do you think we are going to get it????? who knows
