BRISCOE GETS HIS THREE A-LEVELS |
Hull FC star youngster Tom Briscoe has proved you can have brains
and brawn after passing his A-levels in Sports Science, Geography and
Biology.
The 18-year-old received his results today along with thousands of other teenagers throughout the country.
Having got his results young Briscoe didn’t have the luxury to go out
and celebrate like many other successful students. Instead he had to
dash from his Featherstone home to Hull’s training ground at Elloughton
to prepare for Sunday’s engage Super League game against Bradford Bulls
at the Grattan Stadium (3pm).
Briscoe said: “I got a B in sports and C’s in geography and biology and I’m pleased with that.”
He has managed to combine both his studies and playing for Hull FC and
admits: “It was a bit hectic at times but I think it is important to
have some qualifications behind you because there are no guarantees in
this game.
“Nobody is guaranteed to be a success and if things don’t work out I feel it is important to have something to fall back on.”
With those A-levels under his belt, Briscoe now plans to take a year out from his studies and concentrate on his rugby career.
He added: “I would like to go to University at some point but for now I
am taking a year out to go full time with Hull FC and then decide next
year what I want to do.”
