DEFEAT TOOK EDGE OFF 100TH TRY |
|
Wing star Gareth Raynor chalked up his century of tries for Hull FC
in last weekend’s derby clash at Cardiff but he admitted he would have
gladly swapped one or both for a win.

Hull was controversially beaten 22-17, and Raynor said: “Losing somehow took the edge out of scoring my 100th try for the club.
“I’m naturally delighted, it is a tremendous milestone and I hope there
is more to come, but I would have gladly traded one or both of them for
a win.
“To lose and especially the way we did - three crucial decisions killed
us - hurt but it is something we have to get over and pretty quickly
because we face a potentially tough Challenge Cup tie this Sunday at
Widnes (3pm).
“We have to put the derby defeat behind us and concentrate totally on
this week’s game because Widnes will be pumped up and highly motivated.
“The cup is a massive competition and having been to the final in 2005
and won it is an experience I certainly want to taste again and so do
the rest of the boys.
“We’re certainly taking Widnes very seriously and we won’t be underestimating the threat they could pose.
