SHARP WANTS HOME DRAW

SHARP WANTS HOME DRAW

Coach Peter Sharp isn’t bothered who Hull FC face in the fifth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup providing it’s at the KC Stadium.

After last weekend’s 42-5 victory over National League Two Rochdale Hornets at Spotland, Sharp and the rest of the Hull squad will be listening to BBC News Channel’s Sportsday programme for the draw at 6.45pm tomorrow.

“The most important thing about the draw is to get a home tie,” Sharp said. “I think that is all you can ask for in a cup competition, although if I were to be really greedy then I’d go for an easy home draw.

“Home would be nice and you can’t be picky after that so I’m not that bothered as long as we’re at home.”

Sheffield Eagles chief executive Mark Aston, a Challenge Cup and Lance Todd Trophy winner in 1998, will draw the home balls whilst a representative from the competition’s sponsors Carnegie will pick the away balls.

The fifth round ties will be played on the 9, 10 and 11th May with two games to be broadcast live on BBC on both the Saturday and Sunday.

The BBC News Channel is available on digital TV (Channel 80 on Freeview, Sky 503, Tiscali 501 and Virgin Media 601)

From today the BBC News Channel is the new name for BBC News 24 and the time the draw is set to broadcast may be subject to change do to the day’s news agenda.
