Former Saints prop forward Nick Fozzard has today signed a
two year contract with Hull Kingston Rovers which will see him at the
club until the end of the 2010 season.
...I think it's a great opportunity to join a team who are challenging for Super League honours... New recruit Nick Fozzard
After joining St. Helens back in 2003, the 31-year-old work-horse
has been an influential impact player that has appeared for the club
over 115 times and scored a total of 36 points during his stay at
Saints.
Fozzard joins the Robins from a long line of successful clubs, namely
Warrington Wolves, Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Rhinos. He is a player
with plenty of experience and numerous accolades under his belt from
over the years. Fozzard has contributed to winning the league leaders
shield, the super league competition, world club challenge and
challenge cups, and after an immensely successful 2007 season at Saints
he was named in the Super League Dream Team.
"I think it's a great opportunity to join a team who are challenging
for Super League honours," said Fozzard. "I'm looking forward to
teaming up with Rovers next season; it will present me with a fresh
challenge, one I intend to take with both hands."
Robins’ coach Justin Morgan added: "Nick has become one of the best
go-forward players in Super League and is a handful for the opposition
defence. With his physical presence he has become a really dominant
player over the years."
