MORGAN HAPPY WITH VICTORY AND URGES FANS TO SUPPORT IN 2009 |
|
Justin Morgan declared himself satisfied with Hull Kingston
Rovers’ season after securing a third derby win of the season with a
36-8 success over Hull FC.
...the fans have been outstanding this year and we hope that as many as
possible will join us in our 2009 season campaign...Head Coach Justin
Morgan
The Robins posted six tries in a one-sided encounter at Craven Park,
with the visitors struggling to raise their game following last
weekend’s Carnegie Challenge Cup defeat to St Helens.
Jon Steel, Makali Aizue, Ben Cockayne, Peter Fox, Mick Vella and
Stanley Gene all crossed the line for the home side, who end their
second campaign in the engage Super League in seventh place.
“It was very nice to finish with a flourish,” said Morgan after the
game, which attracted a record crowd for the ground of 10,197 for a
third time this season.
“I thought we were dominant for most of the game, and I think seventh is a fair reflection of where we are.
“We’ve beaten everyone above us apart from Leeds, beaten Catalans
twice, so I think seventh is a good reflection and a good standing of
where we are in the competition.
“It would have been nice to have got to the play-offs but it was not to
be. We need to kick on from this point. We need to make sure that we
make some progress and have some more consistency in our play.”
Morgan went on to say: “After a short break we will be straight back to
work, getting ready for what we have set ourselves as being a big
season.
“The fans have been outstanding this year and we hope that as many as possible will join us in our 2009 season campaign.”
