Following talks today between Paul Cooke, Head Coach Justin
Morgan and chairman Neil Hudgell, a mutual agreement has been reached
which will see Paul being eligible for team selection this week.
In a statement prepared by Paul and issued through his father and agent Roy Cooke he would like to say;
"Regarding events of the past few weeks and following full and frank
discussions with the club, I accept that my off field behaviour has
been unprofessional and have apologised to those concerned for that. I
would also like to extend that apology to the supporters who have been
tremendous since my arrival at the club. I firmly believe we can gain a
top six place in super league and look forward to helping achieve that."
Justin Morgan, who has named the player in his 19 man squad for
Sunday's game against Harlequins said:"The meeting was very positive
and Paul particularly impressed me by showing a strong and genuine
determination to make up for lost time and to get back to recapturing
his best form.
"Whilst we will monitor the situation carefully, I expect Paul to play
an important part for us between now and the end of the season and for
the remainder of his contract".
Sunday's game, for which there are a limited amount of tickets
remaining, is vital for both teams as they both push for a top 6 finish
Both parties consider the matter as closed and will be making further comment.
Fans are reminded that tickets are available from visiting the official
club shop 269 Holderness Road or calling the new ticket hotline number
