Last
week Hull Kingston Rovers announced the latest developments for the
Craven Park stadium and have now revealed the latest drawing of the
North Stand development.
The £6million redevelopment of the stadium’s North Stand will also
incorporate commercial and learning facilities to be used by the local
community during the week.
Associate director John North commented: “Negotiations are under way
with the city council and Hull College about possible opportunities
within the new stand.
“The city region development plan for Hull and the Humber ports has
identified a specific need for an enterprise hub to be located in East
Hull to help support the development of key potential growth sectors
for the local economy such as ports and logistics, energy and renewable
technologies and to help underpin key existing industries such as
caravan manufacturing.
"Craven Park is ideally located in close proximity to a major
concentration of these activities and would make a convenient base for
an enterprise hub to support new business start-ups plus related
training and learning opportunities in order to assist the further
development of these key sectors.
"Hull College is committed to developing a range of learning
initiatives, including apprenticeships, specifically targeted at 14-25
year-olds, at Craven Park and these could operate alongside the
proposed enterprise hub."
Future updates on the development will be available on the official club website: www.hullkr.co.uk/stadiumdev.php.
