A superb defensive stint in the second half ensured that the Robins
held off a late comeback from the Bulls to come out on top in a brutal
contest.
The Robins were looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss
away at the Harlequins, but were faced with the daunting prospect of a
Bradford Bulls side included Glenn Morrison, David Solomona and Terry
Newton from injury and suspension. However the Robins were able to
welcome back Scott Murrell and Jake Webster after they overcame ankle
injuries.
On a wet afternoon at Craven Park, the Robins started well with Peter
Fox touching down an inch-perfect grubber from Ben Fisher inside the
first three minutes. Paul Cooke slotted over a superb touchline
conversion, however any early advantage that score could have given was
negated swiftly as the Bulls made the Red and Whites pay for failing to
control the restart. A long ball over the top from Ben Jeffries gave
Semi Tadulala a walk-in at the corner, and Iestyn Harris’ conversion
restored parity on the scoreboard.
